Christmas Break Around Brussels

I had a week off of work between Christmas and New Year and we decided to not make any major trips and stay near home for the week. Things started off by getting us in the Christmas spirit with a load of snow (just like we were still in MN!) We took full advantage and even made a snowman. Good stuff.

Sam wrote a note just in case Santa Clause comes to Belgium (It turns out that he does!)

We took a little "city break" staying at a hotel in Brussels for a couple of nights. It gave us a chance to see the Brussels Christmas markets and swim with Sam in the pool 2-3 times per day. Below is a shot of some of the typical hotel antics.

One of the highlights was a very cool carousel (we actually saw 2 different ones that were both very unique). If you're a "Friend" on Facebook you can see a video here

We also took a Ferris Wheel ride in Place St. Catherine. A bird's eye view of the Christmas market and the ice rink that Sam had his first skating experience.
